Liebherr LiSIM

In close collaboration with Liebherr, we are developing LiSIM, an innovative training simulator for crane operators that enables realistic training in a safe environment. The system is built on advanced physical simulation and integrates cutting-edge control technology with immersive 3D environments.

Training takes place on authentic Liebherr control stands, equipped with a motion base that provides realistic motion feedback. Up to five monitors or virtual reality headsets can be used to ensure full immersion. Crane movements, load behaviour, and dynamic elements such as ropes and chains are simulated in real time, ensuring that operation precisely mirrors real working conditions.
CAN signals are transmitted directly between the real control unit and the simulation via a specialised interface, allowing the crane control system to function as if in a real-world environment.

A modular simulation framework enables the replicas of a wide range of Liebherr crane models, with each control command processed with precision. LiSIM is already in use at ports worldwide, helping to train the next generation of crane operators to work safely and efficiently.
